Post Dia de los Muertos
Today is a day to remember loved ones that have passed away. Especially poignant for me as my grandmother died a few months ago and I wasn't able to get to Tijuana to visit her before her death. A source of tremendous guilt for me even though others around me have reassured me that there was nothing I could do at the time to get there.

So this year on this night I'd like to go to San Francisco to take part in the annual procession in the mission district. I've never been to it and I'm hoping it isn't all f$#^&d up but white people who think it's some excuse to party as opposed to what it's supposed to be; a day to honor the dead. I will soon see I suppose.

So even if you don't feel like plastering face paint or setting up an alter or eating sugar skulls tonight, take a moment to remember those people you cared about that are no longer in your life.
